About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Neurodiversity Practitioner to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Health and Justice teams, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders in custody.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of a Neurodiverse pathway of care across five Surrey Prisons, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide adapted psychosocial interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Hold a caseload of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, providing assessment, intervention, and evaluation of care, while advocating for their needs and promoting best practice within the prison system.
  • Work collaboratively with other neurodevelopmental disorder practitioners, prison staff, and external agencies to improve outcomes for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Assist with Neurodiverse informed transition and release planning, ensuring a smooth transition for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders back into the community.
Requirements
  • Health and Social Care Profession (Nurse, Mental Health/Learning Disability or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) with current registration (NMC/HCPC/SWE).
  • Experience of working with individuals with Autism, ADHD, and/or Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities in health or social care settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as required.
  • Knowledge of CPA, Mental Health Act, MAPPA, and relevant legislation and policies.
