Job Summary:

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Nottingham is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of project-based learning modules for Year 1 and Year 2 students, working collaboratively with academic staff and other teams to create engaging laboratory-based learning experiences.
  • Supervise project laboratories, provide support to students outside of these sessions, and contribute to the development of teaching and assessment materials.
  • Mark and provide feedback on student work, utilizing expertise in electronic circuit design, construction, and testing, as well as computer/microprocessor programming.
  • Support other EEE teaching activities, including the preparation and delivery of technical problem classes, developing and supporting coursework exercises, and assessing student work.
  • Contribute to the specification and supervision of projects suitable for final year undergraduate and MSc students.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and skills in electronic circuit design, construction, and testing, as well as substantive experience of computer/microprocessor programming.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, although applications from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum hours per week) will be considered. Job share arrangements may also be considered.
