Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Specialist to support students with mild Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at CV-Library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with mild ASD, supervising and assisting with their daily needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies to support the child's learning goals.
  • Offer regular feedback to teachers on the child's progress, achievement, and needs.
  • Assist with personal care, social, health, physical, first aid, and welfare matters as required.
  • Deliver structured learning activities and teaching programmes, adapting to meet the child's learning objectives.
  • Supervise children during out-of-lesson times, including playtime and lunchtime duty.
  • Build strong relationships with children, modelling positive behaviour.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance, supporting diversity and ensuring equal access to opportunities for all children.
  • Support the child in literacy, numeracy, Key Stage, and subject-specific areas.
  • Foster interactions and engagement among children.
  • Maintain the classroom environment, preparing and clearing displays of children's work.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and resources, supporting children in their use.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of strategies for working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours.
  • Leads on direct work with young people in an educational or training setting, supporting student learning.
Requirements:
  • Some understanding of strategies for working with young people exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Experience working directly with young people in an educational or training environment, supporting student learning.
Estimated Salary: £30,000 per annum
