Lead Emergency Response Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Emergency First Aider to join our team at Randstad. As a key member of our medical response team, you will be responsible for providing immediate, lifesaving medical care and assessing when to call further medical help.
Key Responsibilities- Provide immediate first aid to casualties who are ill or injured and make appropriate decisions when to call an ambulance or refer to other medical professionals.
- Oversee the medical provision within the school and ensure the appropriate level of supervision.
- Deliver care within the boundaries of the role, focusing on student well-being and health education.
- Refer to individual health care plans for students with medical conditions and treat accordingly.
- Notify parents of any illness or accidents and treatments provided.
- Input and update student medical information onto database.
- Administer Rescue Medication when appropriate.
- Replenish and maintain first aid equipment/stock, including first aid boxes for school events or trips.
- Provide accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of student consultation consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Update and share appropriate student medical conditions information at start of each year.
- Create or update and evaluate all medical policies and procedures (medical conditions, drug use etc), communicating with staff and parents.
- Administer an EpiPen injection when appropriate and in accordance with medical procedures and training qualifications.
- Hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate or equivalent.
- Optional training (provided by the school) may include: Anaphylaxis (Rescue Medication) Training, Epilepsy (Buccal Midazolam) Training, Diabetes Awareness Training.
- Be able to communicate calmly and effectively under pressure.
The job may involve some lifting, pulling and stretching. The work could be undertaken indoors or outdoors depending on where an emergency situation may arise.
