About the Role

The Department of Geography at Durham University is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Human Geography. This exciting opportunity allows you to develop your expertise in the geographies of nature, climate change, and just and sustainable futures.

Responsibilities
  • Develop world-class scholarship in human geography, focusing on one or more research clusters: Geographies of Life;
  • Pursue internationally excellent and agenda-setting publications;
  • Secure external funding for research projects;
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching on human geography programs;
  • Participate in departmental research initiatives and collaborate with colleagues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in a relevant field;
  • An established track record of publication or potential for internationally excellent research;
  • Experience in delivering high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
