About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous-Chef to join our culinary team at Athena Healthcare Group. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards during all stages of production and service.
  • Ensure adherence to the HACCP procedure as outlined in Athena's Food Safety Management documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, ordering, and storage procedures.
  • Support the Head Chef in achieving quality control and hygiene systems, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Purchase food and related products from approved suppliers, adhering to company budget and cost control guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and manage their time effectively.

Requirements

  • Relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering.
  • Experience working in the care sector, preferably in a similar role.
