Specialist Teaching Assistant Hearing Impairment

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our Croydon Sensory Support Service team as a Specialist Teaching Assistant for Hearing Impaired children.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people placed at the primary provision for deaf children at Norbury Manor Primary School. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people, particularly those with hearing loss, and will possess skills in British Sign Language (BSL) or be willing to undergo training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teaching and learning of Hearing Impaired children in a primary school setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide BSL support and communication services to children and families
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sensory support plans
