Specialist Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officer

The CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist visual impairment rehabilitation services to residents with sensory impairments. This will involve conducting sensory needs assessments, providing equipment and minor adaptations, and offering advice to residents to optimize their safety and independence.
The post holder will also be responsible for mentoring and supervising staff, managing a caseload of specialist visual impairment rehabilitation, and providing visual impairment advice and support to colleagues across Adult Social Care. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for keeping up to date with new developments and technologies to ensure the independence of residents with sensory impairments is maximized.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of visual impairment and sensory needs, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide high-quality services to residents with sensory impairments.
The post is based within the Telecare and Sensory Team, which is part of the Older People and Physical Disabilities Services in Adult Social Care. The team supports residents with Sight Loss, Hearing Loss, and Dual Sensory Loss (Deafblind) to meet their social care needs, promote their independence, and help them achieve their goals and outcomes in order to improve their wellbeing.
The post holder will build strong links with partner agencies and advocate for residents to access appropriate services. They will also be responsible for waiting list management and work prioritization.
