Residential Support Worker - Complex Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Autism Unlimited. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting Sonny, a young adult with complex needs, to live a fulfilling and independent life.

Sonny requires 2:1 support seven days a week and has a range of communication needs, including speech, body language, and gestures. He has a passion for food and enjoys trying new things, although he requires a gluten-free and dairy-free diet.

A typical day for Sonny may include attending the local gym, swimming, and going on forest walks. We are working to support Sonny to develop his independence skills, including managing his finances, making decisions, and taking care of his personal needs.

As a Residential Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality care and support to Sonny, including personal care, medication management, and emotional support
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of Sonny's care and support plans
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure that Sonny's needs are met and that he is able to live a fulfilling and independent life

We are looking for someone who is warm, engaging, patient, and empathetic, with experience of working in complex care. You will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car, as this is an essential requirement for the role.
