Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Simulation Engineer to join our team at Prodrive. As a key member of our Advanced Technology business, you will be responsible for designing and implementing digital models and simulations of physical systems to inform and optimise the requirements of our complex engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital models of electro-mechanical or electro-hydraulic smart actuation systems in the Active Aero, Intelligent Interior or Vehicle Dynamics domains.
  • Support colleagues from the V&V and Design and Development teams to ensure DV and any other physical or digital testing is aligned with your simulation activities.
  • Integrate closely with controls and software engineers to design and iterate suitable control strategies for relevant systems under development.
  • Aid in business development activities, including proposals and project estimating.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in first-principal physics, particularly for electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems, and supporting mathematical skills.
  • Experience of Mechanical/electrical/electronic/software system modelling and simulation, preferably in the Automotive domain.
  • High proficiency in MATLAB toolchain – specifically Simulink and Simscape.
  • Knowledge of Altair Hyperworks toolchain would be beneficial.
  • Experience of drivecycle modelling and analysis would be an advantage.
