Job Description

RED Engineering Design Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Design Engineer Associate to join our team in Bicester. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for running major projects and taking a team management role in the development and design of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out cost and profit diagnosis on projects, including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bids.
  • Review project status and modify schedules or plans as required, preparing project reports for Management, Client, or others.
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services purposes.
  • Survey, test, and report on existing electrical/mechanical installations.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
  • Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet industry and legal standards.
  • Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and provide direct liaison with clients.
  • Monitor risk and performance analysis through effective systems of internal control and delegation.
  • Lead the coordination of engineering services and take a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience of specification design for a range of building types and sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
