About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to join our Experimental Equipment Design team at the Atomic Weapons Establishment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of support equipment for tests and trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets technical and safety requirements
  • Develop and implement design standards and guidelines
  • Coach and develop design engineers to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems and engineering trials and testing procedures
Requirements
  • Extensive mechanical engineering and systems engineering experience
  • Ability to evaluate products for performance, reliability, and safety
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with quality management systems and engineering trials and testing procedures
