About the Role

Blatchford, a leading manufacturer of advanced prosthetic technology, bespoke seating solutions, and orthotic devices, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Mechanical Design division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for introducing new products through discovery, trial, and development phases, designing and manufacturing product prototype parts and assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and jigs for assembly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop product prototypes, including 'end of line' testing, and create best practice procedures and work instructions for product assembly and testing.
  • Support engineers within R&D in the development of product development models and assemblies, and assist in the qualification and documentation of product prototypes, related tooling, including process controls.
  • Manage the procurement of materials for prototyping and testing, and support the transition from engineering to production of new products within specified cost, schedule, and process requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or related subject.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC programming techniques, CAD/CAM, jig and tool design.
  • Demonstrate an ability to resolve problems, educate, and work to exacting standards.
