Part-time Civil and Structural Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil and Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design consultancy, JLF Consulting Engineers Ltd, on a part-time basis.

About the Role

The appointed candidate will play a crucial role in a variety of projects across different sectors, with key responsibilities including:

  • Collaborating to develop and implement engineering solutions
  • Utilising experience to ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Preparation of structural designs using relevant software or by hand calculation where appropriate
  • Meetings with Clients to discuss prospective and current projects
  • Site visits to carry out relevant visual inspections and measured surveys
  • Assisting with day-to-day management of construction projects being carried out by our affiliated company JLF Developments Ltd
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a design office environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Experience using relevant design software, preferably Tekla TEDDS and Tekla Structural Designer
  • Proficient in preparing technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Good writing skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to communicate technical details effectively
  • A full driving licence and the ability to travel to site meetings across the UK
