JLF Consulting Engineers is a highly accredited civil and structural design consultancy based in Neston, Cheshire. We work with clients from initial concept through to final construction in various building sectors across the UK. Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for an experienced Civil and Structural Engineer at JLF Consulting Engineers Ltd. The appointed candidate will play a crucial role in a variety of projects across different sectors, with the following key responsibilities:
- Collaborating to develop and implement engineering solutions.
- Utilising your experience to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Preparation of structural designs using relevant software or by hand calculation where appropriate.
- Preparation of technical drawings.
- Meetings with Clients to discuss prospective and current projects.
- Site visits to carry out relevant visual inspections and measured surveys.
- Preparation of reports.
- Assisting with day-to-day management of construction projects being carried out by our affiliated company JLF Developments Ltd.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a design office environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field
- Ideally, hold a professional qualification with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
- Experience using relevant design software, preferably Tekla TEDDS and Tekla Structural Designer.
- Proficient in preparing technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication skills and the desire to build good relationships with Clients, Consultants and Team Members.
- Good writing skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to communicate technical details effectively.
- Ability to meet deadlines and milestones with great time management.
- A full driving licence and the ability to travel to site meetings across the UK.
