Data Center Operations Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our IT infrastructure and hardware in our data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair hardware and network problems
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Work rotating shifts, including weekends, to maintain a 24/7 data center environment
  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in networking
  • Completed apprenticeship as an electronics technician/IT specialist or equivalent job-related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools
  • Proficient with ticketing systems
  • Very good command of English (CEFR B2)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and experience with network protocols
  • Proficient with ticketing and Change Management Systems (CMS)
  • Very good command of German (CEFR B2)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (CEFR C1)
