Family Support Specialist

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Family Support Specialist to join our team at Polaris Children's Services.
As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering intensive support to children and young people to achieve positive changes in their lives.
Working closely with families, schools, social workers, and foster carers, you will advocate for the families' wishes and feelings, ensuring that their needs are met.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and families in a home visiting role and/or delivering parenting programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an evidenced therapeutic programme to parents/carers in the community to support placement stability
- Listen and respond sensitively and appropriately to children, young people and their parents or carers to support them to achieve positive changes
- Have regular contact with the child or young person, including face-to-face and telephone contact
- Ensure the service delivered promotes equality, diversity, and rights for all individuals associated with the service
- Liaise and work with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children, young people and their families
