Fabrication Contracts Manager Job Description

CV Library is seeking a seasoned Fabrication Contracts Manager to lead the overall direction of specific jobs and projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, objectives, and goals. This role involves the retention of existing business and the development of new opportunities to provide a continuous pipeline of revenue for the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project requirements, ensuring clear communication and effective project management.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities to drive growth and sustainability, leveraging industry connections and market knowledge.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Provide clear direction on project quality requirements, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop quotations and estimates for work scopes, defining resource requirements and ensuring accurate costing and billing.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of work scopes, coordinating with project staff and stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Liaise with the team to assemble and coordinate project staff, ensuring effective project management and resource allocation.
  • Manage project budget, ensuring accurate accounting, costing, and billing, and making adjustments as needed to ensure project profitability.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and manage project change, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide direction and support to project team and report progress, ensuring that project stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in recruiting and managing specialists and sub-contractors, ensuring that the right skills and expertise are brought to the project.
  • Produce risk assessments, method statements, and quality plans, ensuring that projects are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Strong background in fabrication and installation, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Evidence of successful work winning, with a proven ability to secure new clients and manage existing client portfolios.
  • Proven track record of securing new clients and managing existing client portfolios, with a strong understanding of customer requirements and market trends.
  • Demonstrable experience in producing estimates and negotiating orders, with a strong understanding of commercial principles and practices.
  • Strong Health & Safety and Quality ethic, with a proven ability to ensure that projects are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and effectively manage changing priorities, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to recognise customer requirements, with a strong understanding of customer needs and market trends.
  • Good planning and analytical skills, assertive and articulate, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
