Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer/Senior Procurement Officer to join our team at Motorsport-Total GmbH. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our new programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Procurement team to develop and implement Category Strategies for our commodity areas, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with programme requirements.
  • Lead the RFQ process, maintaining competitive tension to deliver the best commercial and technological outcomes for McLaren, in line with programme timing requirements.
  • Analyze and interpret suppliers' RFQ responses to provide comprehensive, like-for-like quotations and deliver the best total cost picture for the Commodity Procurement team.
  • Build strong relationships with VLD and Engineering teams to ensure seamless cross-functional cooperation and deliver 'one voice' to the McLaren supplier base.
  • Work closely with Procurement Project Managers to ensure timely completion of procurement activities for commodity areas.
  • Develop a close working relationship with SQD Engineers to deliver cost, timing, and quality programme requirements relating to suppliers.
  • Ensure supplier tooling costs are fully interrogated and tooling is delivered on time and to cost, in line with programme requirements.
  • Maintain the tooling/asset register, ensuring it is fully up-to-date and compliant with McLaren's requirements.
Requirements
  • University degree in Business or Engineering (preferably automotive, aerospace, or mechanical) or similar.
  • Deep understanding of the Procurement function and processes, with demonstrable experience of managing multi-national suppliers.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a buyer and senior buyer with an Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a senior buyer within a manufacturing business or First Tier Automotive supplier.
  • Experience of delivering procurement activities for new programmes, aligned to category strategies and through cross-functional collaboration with Engineering.
  • Well-proven skills in Quotation Analysis Form (QAF) interrogation and a good understanding of suppliers' cost drivers.
  • Experience of high-volume and niche vehicle Procurement, with the ability to apply best practice as appropriate.
  • Experienced with financial analysis for assessing suppliers' health and building business cases internally.
  • Fluent written and verbal English is essential.
