We are currently seeking a skilled and empathetic Child Protection Specialist to join our dedicated team in Bury, Greater Manchester. This challenging yet rewarding role involves working closely with vulnerable children and their families to provide essential support and protection.

About the Position:

  1. Protecting Vulnerable Children: Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to prevent harm.
  2. Court Representation: Effectively represent the Local Authority in court proceedings, presenting evidence and advocating for the best interests of children.
  3. Community Outreach: Engage with service users in various settings, including their homes, schools, and community centers.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Contribute to multi-agency teams, sharing expertise and working together to achieve positive outcomes.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports to inform decision-making.
  6. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.
  7. Support and Supervision: Receive regular supervision and guidance from experienced professionals to ensure optimal performance.
  8. Networking Opportunities: Establish relationships with local organizations and stakeholders to leverage resources and improve services.
  9. Compliance and Governance: Adhere to relevant laws, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work: CQSW, CSS, DiPSW, or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England: Essential for this position.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Children Act 1989, child development, and social work principles.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
