Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our Initial Response & Safeguarding Team in Bury, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong commitment to protecting and enhancing the well-being of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

About the Role
  • Deliver professional social work services to children and families, adhering to the Children Act 1989
  • Conduct thorough assessments of children who may have experienced or are at risk of significant harm
  • Seek management and legal advice to secure necessary orders for child protection
Key Responsibilities
  • Report Writing & Court Representation: Prepare detailed, high-quality reports for various contexts, including court proceedings
  • Represent the Local Authority in court, providing verbal and written evidence as needed, and account for the Authority's actions in both public and private hearings
Requirements

This role requires a degree in Social Work (such as CQSW, CSS, DiPSW, or an equivalent qualification) and registration with Social Work England. You should possess comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and a thorough understanding of the developmental stages of children and adolescents.

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Bury, Greater Manchester. The salary for this role is £40,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
