Join Our Team as a Housing Policy and Strategy Officer

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking a talented individual to become part of a team within the Strategic Housing Service. The successful candidate will help deliver an exciting project to provide new affordable homes on sites across the Borough.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess housing need and demand to inform policy decisions
  • Develop affordable housing policy to guide the Council's direct housing delivery programme and residential planning permissions
  • Research modern methods of construction, low-cost home ownership, custom and self-build, community led housing, and urban regeneration to develop appropriate housing delivery mechanisms
  • Liaise extensively with partners from Housing Associations and developers to Government Departments, estate agents, and households seeking affordable housing
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience of working in the field of housing, planning or regeneration
  • Educated to at least degree level
