As a Laboratory Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our operations as we embark on an ambitious commercial phase, with new products in development.
Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced and proactive Engineer to join our team, responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment, ensuring facilities are efficient and safe.
You'll work closely with our Lab Manager to support day-to-day operations, including lab waste management, equipment maintenance, and training the lab team.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Lab Manager with daily operations, including lab waste management and equipment maintenance
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols for lab instruments and equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and PPM for high-use equipment, such as glove boxes and gas supplies
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs and maintenance
- Facilitate the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Train and supervise the lab team on proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Support with monitoring health and safety in the lab
- Previous experience in a similar role, with experience handling chemicals and gases
- Health and Safety focused, with risk assessments and COSHH experience
- Experience with servicing and maintenance of equipment
- Able to work within a small team, helping to train and mentor others
- Enthusiastic about working within a growing company and excited to contribute to its success
- A competitive salary of around £32 - 37k, depending on experience
