We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to join our team at Masonite. As a key member of our Operations department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate existing, new, and changes in health, safety, environment, and quality legislation to ensure compliance and implement necessary procedures.
  • Collaborate with the UK IMS Lead to standardize high-level procedures across sites.
  • Develop and improve the site HSE culture through engagement and empowerment.
  • Provide competent support to management in identifying HSE gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure comprehensive HSE policies and procedures are developed, maintained, and communicated in line with Owens Corning requirements.
  • Work proactively with managers and staff to establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and quality matters.
  • Undertake regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage and review risk assessments for the site.
  • Assist in the completion of fire risk assessments and advise on occupational health surveillance requirements.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities as required.
  • Plan and implement emergency drills and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Design and deliver HSE training events and support the planning and delivery of external HSE training.
  • Lead the site Health and Safety Committee and participate in other subcommittees as required.
  • Support managers and supervisors to enable the delivery of their personal and area HSE objectives.
  • Manage and maintain the site HSE budget.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Either hold or working towards Technical Membership of IOSH.
  • Minimum of IOSH Managing Safely with previous experience in a H&S role.
