About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and lead projects, mentor junior team members, and deliver low energy and high quality products.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in building services engineering, with experience in designing and specifying mechanical systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and controls.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring an understanding of project briefs and developing detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools.
  • Preparing technical specifications and collaborating with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings.
  • Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors, and conducting site surveys and inspections.
  • Managing own workload and working to time allocations, while adhering to quality, environmental, and governance processes.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Building Services Engineering or a related subject.
  • Good computer literacy in a range of digital tools, including IES Thermal Modelling, HevaComp, NBS, and Microsoft packages.
  • Awareness of building physics principles, including passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
  • Competence in designing for measurement and verification, including experience of commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance.
