Tutoring Specialist

We are seeking a Tutoring Specialist to join our team as an Academic Mentorship Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging topics and teaching materials for a class of up to 8 students aged 18-24, utilizing your subject expertise to prepare tailored content.
Responsibilities- Foster a positive, challenging learning environment through seminar and tutorial teaching, promoting strong work ethic and productive interactions among students.
- Develop university-style study skills by setting sufficient and challenging pre-course work and independent study assignments, encouraging students to develop their own ideas and explore complex concepts.
- Provide individualized feedback during paired tutorials, informal feedback on other work completed, and personalized reports at the end of the course to support students' academic development.
- Complete an induction process to familiarize yourself with company procedures, logistical requirements, and safeguarding protocols before commencing the role.
- Monitor student attendance and report any welfare concerns to ensure their safety and well-being.
- You possess enthusiasm for sharing your subject expertise with ambitious young people and take an inclusive, question-led approach to teaching based on student contribution.
- You have a deep understanding of the range of subject knowledge and the diverse needs of different 18-24 year olds, making you an effective communicator who can explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
- You appreciate the importance of looking after young people and recognize the value of creating a supportive learning environment.
- A Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, along with a strong commitment to pursuing a research-based postgraduate qualification.
- Experience in teaching or working with students in a related capacity is essential.
- Clear evidence of small group, interactive teaching that supports independent thinking and problem-solving is required.
- Proven ability to adapt to suit the prior knowledge and interests of different students, ensuring a tailored approach to each student's learning journey.
- You must hold the right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role).
Salary: £41 - £55 per hour.
