The Role: Account Director

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring the retention and growth of our existing portfolio of clients. This includes a portfolio of local authorities, police forces, fire authorities, and higher education institutions, with responsibility for managing the renewal process and responding to tenders.

  • Ensure client needs are met by working with empathy and integrity to understand and meet their requirements.
  • Proactively collaborate with underwriters, account handlers, the claims team, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain high professional standards, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Engage in national and regional events, including ALARM and Insurance Officers Group meetings, to network with brokers, clients, and suppliers.
  • Support the implementation of the Regional Business Plan as required.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key brokers, clients, and lost clients/prospects through regular meetings and involvement of relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements by attending workshops, conferences, events, and training sessions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner brokers, insurers, claims handlers, and clients.
