About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled PICU Senior Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading by example in our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deputise for the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources.
  • Carry out the day-to-day management and coordination of the ward/department.
  • Ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff, including pre and post-registration students.
  • Act as an advocate for child and family. Provide unsupervised nursing care.
  • Our PICU provides specialised care across multiple disciplines, including oncology, infectious diseases, neurology, neurosurgery, major trauma, ENT and paediatric surgery.

Requirements

  • Nursing Qualification
  • Holds paediatric intensive care course/modules or equivalent post-registration ICU course.
  • Two years post-qualification experience with at least 6 months in Paediatric Intensive Care within the last year.
  • Demonstrates experience in assessment, care planning and evaluation.
