Senior Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at The Portland Hospital, a leading private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children.
About the RoleAs a Senior Staff Nurse on our PICU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will also take on a leadership role, mentoring and supporting junior nurses, and contributing to the development of the unit's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to the highest standards of clinical governance and safety
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Mentor and support junior nurses, promoting their professional development and well-being
- Contribute to the development of the unit's policies and procedures, ensuring they are evidence-based and effective
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care
- NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
- Post Graduate experience working in a PICU setting
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues
- Teaching and mentoring experience desirable
- Completion of a PICU Course that is equivalent to 60 credits
- Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
- Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable
