About the Role

BenchMark Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our clients expanding team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

You will lead audit assignments, manage junior team members, and work closely with clients to ensure their audit and advisory needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, Execute, and Complete Audit Assignments

Develop and implement audit plans to ensure compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, and execute audit assignments across a variety of industries.

Manage and Mentor Junior Auditors

Provide guidance on technical issues, ensure the development of junior auditors, and manage their workloads to ensure efficient delivery of audit services.

Act as Primary Point of Contact for Clients

Deliver excellent service, resolve queries, and build strong relationships with clients to ensure their audit and advisory needs are met.

Ensure Audit Files are Prepared to the Highest Standards

Prepare audit files with sufficient detail to pass external regulatory reviews, and ensure that all audit work is completed to the highest standards.

Provide Advice on Accounting and Audit-Related Matters

Provide advice on accounting and audit-related matters, including the application of accounting standards and financial reporting.

Identify and Communicate Risks or Issues

Identify and communicate any risks or issues identified during the audit, and suggest solutions to ensure that clients' audit and advisory needs are met.

Assist in Identifying New Business Opportunities

Assist in identifying new business opportunities and contribute to proposals for potential clients.

Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience

Fully qualified or near qualification (final stages considered), and at least 3 years of experience within an audit role, ideally within a large or medium-sized practice.

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit processes, and proficiency in audit and accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Sage, IRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication and Leadership Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly, and proven ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and mentor junior staff.

Client Relationship Management

Experience in maintaining and developing client relationships, and ability to build strong relationships with clients to ensure their audit and advisory needs are met.
