We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our clients expanding team in Newport. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and complete audit assignments across a variety of industries, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Manage and mentor junior auditors and trainees, providing guidance on technical issues and ensuring their development.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, delivering excellent service, resolving queries, and building strong relationships.
  • Ensure that audit files are prepared to the highest standards, with sufficient detail to pass external regulatory reviews.
  • Provide advice on accounting and audit-related matters, including the application of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Identify and communicate any risks or issues identified during the audit and suggest solutions.
  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities and contribute to proposals for potential clients.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified or near qualification (final stages considered).
  • At least 3 years of experience within an audit role, ideally within a large or medium-sized practice.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit processes.
  • Proficient in audit and accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, Sage, IRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience in maintaining and developing client relationships.
