Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Terry Parris Associates. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of our clients' projects, which range in value from £500k to £5M, primarily for export. You will work closely with sales, design, and purchasing functions to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Execution: Take ownership of full project execution from design output, providing effective leadership and coordination of purchasing, production, manufacturing, and installation teams.
  • Project Planning: Utilize project planning skills and tools to ensure consistent planning, forecasting, budget control, risk management, and cost savings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to facilitate close working relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and personnel. Identify skills opportunities and gaps, recruit and maintain a strong team, hold scheduled performance reviews, and motivate staff to achieve objectives and personal development goals.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety is always managed across all departments, hosting regular production meetings with a focus on ownership and achievement of agreed tasks.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth and development, working closely with the board of directors to achieve projected plans.
Requirements
  • Education: Educated to degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: Significant experience in building and commissioning large-scale capital equipment worldwide, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Skills: Strong project planning and leadership skills, with the ability to work consistently under pressure and provide positive leadership to teams.
  • Personal Qualities: A self-motivated personality with a drive to achieve excellence in all activities undertaken.
