Automotive Workshop Manager

We're seeking a highly organized and efficient Workshop Controller to join our team at Wessex Garages Holdings Ltd.
About the Role
As a Workshop Controller, you'll work closely with the Service Manager to drive productivity and deliver exceptional first-time repair rates. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workshop environment, ensuring all servicing work is carried out correctly, competently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to meet targets and business objectives.
- Ensure all servicing work is completed to the highest standards, with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and manufacturer policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to provide a seamless service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, considering workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
- Provide estimates for servicing and repairs, setting realistic timescales.
- Assist technicians with technical challenges and find effective solutions.
- Accurately record technician time and write technical reports and recommendations.
Essential Skills:
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including workshop control or technician roles.
- High levels of organization and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets and deliver high-quality work.
- Capacity to create new work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner.
