We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Workshop Controller to join our team at Wessex Garages Holdings Ltd.
As a key member of our service department, you will work closely with the Service Manager to deliver exceptional results and maintain a high level of productivity in our workshop.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the automotive industry, including workshop control or technician roles, and possess excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to ensure targets and business objectives are met.
- Service Delivery: Ensure all servicing work is carried out correctly, competently, and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and manufacturer policy.
- Collaboration: Work with colleagues and other departments to ensure a seamless service for customers.
- Scheduling and Estimation: Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
- Technical Support: Assist technicians with technical challenges and find the right outcome.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Accurately record technician time and write technical reports and recommendations.
Essential skills:
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry.
- High levels of organization and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets and deliver high-quality work.
- Ability to create more work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner.
