Workshop Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled Workshop Controller to join our team at Wessex Garages Holdings Ltd.
About the role
As a Workshop Controller, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional productivity and quality standards within our workshop.
This role would be ideal for a motivated and organized individual with a passion for the automotive industry, looking to develop their career and take on a leadership role.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices to ensure targets and business objectives are met.
- Oversee the completion of servicing work to the highest standards, on time, and with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Ensure compliance with company, DVSA, health and safety, and manufacturer policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and departments to provide a seamless service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, considering workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
- Provide accurate estimates for servicing and repairs, including timescales.
- Assist technicians with technical challenges and find effective solutions.
- Record technician time accurately and write technical reports and recommendations.
Essential qualifications and skills
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles.
- High levels of organization and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills.
- Fantastic interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate the team, and achieve targets.
- Capacity to create new work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner.
