Ribbons and Reeves Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Harrow. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide inclusive and personalised assistance within a mainstream secondary school setting.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with individual students or small groups to provide tailored support and assistance with academic and social development. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Creating and maintaining a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, offering patience, empathy, and understanding in all interactions.
  • Utilising a range of strategies to facilitate learning and engage students with different learning styles and abilities.

You will also contribute to the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in review meetings.

About You

To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs. A First Class degree from a Top University is mandatory for this role. You will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and parents.

A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN, is essential for this role. You will work closely with individual students or small groups, providing personalised support and guidance.

The ideal candidate will be able to utilise a range of strategies to facilitate learning, foster positive relationships with students, and contribute to the monitoring and tracking of student progress. The estimated salary for this role is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
