Special Educational Needs Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable school in Harrow. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and will provide inclusive and personalized assistance within a mainstream secondary school setting.
About the Role
A SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with individual students or small groups, providing tailored support and guidance to facilitate their academic and social development. The successful candidate will collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement personalized learning plans, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN.
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant with prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a First Class degree from a reputable university and a strong academic background before a Bachelor's Degree. A degree in Psychology or a related field is desirable, along with knowledge of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with individual students or small groups to provide tailored support and guidance
- Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement personalized learning plans
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN
- Foster positive relationships with students, offering patience, empathy, and understanding in all interactions
- Utilize a range of strategies to facilitate learning and engage students with different learning styles and abilities
- Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in review meetings
