Job Title: Senior Social Work Specialist

About the Role:
As a Senior Social Work Specialist, you will be part of our dynamic Connected Persons Team in Slough, working closely with kinship carers to provide stable and nurturing homes for children. Your expertise will help identify and assess potential family placements, ensuring the highest standard of care for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the assessment and approval process for kinship carers, ensuring the best interests of children are met.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to Social Workers in the Connected Persons Team, promoting best practice and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure holistic support and interventions for children and families.
  • Oversee case management, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records and timely reporting.
  • Champion the well-being and safety of children, promoting their best interests in all decisions.

Requirements:
  • Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England (SWE/HCPC) - ESSENTIAL
  • Extensive experience in kinship care and family placements.
  • Proven experience in supervising and supporting Social Workers.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies in child protection and family support.
