About the Role:

We are recruiting a Family Support and Safeguarding Expert to join our Safeguarding and Family Support Service at Slough Children First. As a Senior Social Worker, you will respond to child protection referrals, gather information, assess, and prioritize decisions to keep children safe.

This role requires a high level of expertise in child protection procedures, assessment processes, and legal frameworks. You will work closely with partner agencies and internal partners to develop effective relationships with children and their families.

The successful candidate will possess significant postgraduate experience in social work, a professional social work degree or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England. A current UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are also essential.

Your duties will include:

  • Responding to child protection referrals, gathering information, assessing, and prioritizing decisions to keep children safe.
  • Developing effective relationships with children and their families to improve the impact of your work and determine the level of service available.
  • Ensuring the needs of service users from all communities are addressed, and equalities issues are considered in all aspects of your work.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all work undertaken, including comprehensive use of the Integrated Children's System.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of services to children and families and attend team meetings to promote integrated and effective services.
