About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Corporate Strategist to join our team at the Financial Conduct Authority. As a key member of our Strategy department, you will play a leading role in the development of our next phase of strategy, providing advice to senior leaders on key consumer and markets issues and the external forces that influence them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improvement
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders on key consumer and markets issues and the external forces that influence them
  • Lead a refresh of our annual Strategic and Financial Planning process, aligning it to the next phase of our strategy
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to understand our priorities and how they contribute to them
  • Deliver the Strategic and Financial Planning process, working with the core planning teams and subject matter experts

Requirements:

  • Experience in corporate strategy development and strategic planning in a regulator, public organisation or in financial services
  • Track record and proven experience of delivering high profile projects influencing stakeholders at different levels
  • Demonstrable experience of working in agile environments
  • Evidence of strong analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex issues succinctly and with clarity, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to identify and analyse key issues facing consumers and markets, as well the factors influencing them, to provide advice on our strategic direction
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to make logical and timely decisions, cutting through complexity and seeing the big picture
  • Capable of managing a variety of competing tasks and issues, prioritising appropriately and escalating where necessary, showing initiative and ability to bring conceptual thinking to life
  • Ability to work actively with others to achieve outcomes in both formal and informal teams
