About this Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Safety Professional - Construction.

This role involves providing support to project teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and implementing HSE guidance and best practice.

  • Experience in health and safety practice, preferably in the Construction industry, is required.
  • Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety is essential.
  • Familiarity with current statutory health and safety law in the UK is necessary.
  • You will be responsible for conducting systematic audits and inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with legislative requirements and health and safety management systems.
Responsibilities:
  1. Support project teams in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and implementation of HSE guidance and best practice.
  2. Conduct systematic audits and inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with legislative requirements and health and safety management systems.
  3. Monitor the satisfactory resolution of health and safety problems.
  4. Assist project teams with risk assessments and identification of suitable control measures.
  5. Develop and maintain safety-related documentation.
  6. Liaise with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors.
  7. Support the development of a positive health and safety culture within the project team.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in health and safety practice, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety.
  • Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK.
  • Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
  • Knowledge of good practice in construction, including HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 or similar management systems.
  • Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
  • CSCS card or affiliated scheme (SHEA Water).
