Workshop Support Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Support Technician to join our team at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our training workshop, working closely with our training staff to deliver high-quality training programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on workshop equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and quality protocols.
  • Support the delivery of training programs, including first-year apprentice material and commercial courses.
  • Manage the ordering process for equipment and materials to maintain efficient workshop operations.
  • Liaise with the MTC workshop team to maintain equipment to the required standard.
  • React to equipment breakdowns and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor the learning environment and ensure adherence to internal and external standards.
Requirements:
  • Manufacturing engineering experience, with a focus on generic engineering operations.
  • Past experience working in an engineering environment, including milling, turning, and CNC operations.
  • General workshop health and safety understanding, with knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong numeracy skills and confidence working with data.
  • Organized and methodical approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
