CV-Library is a leading commercial vehicle and trailer manufacturer based in Cheshire. We are currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team and execute the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) roadmap on the factory floor.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar role in the Heavy Engineering sector and a detailed understanding of simultaneous crane operations. They will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance with OHS acts, regulations, and best practice, providing guidance to production management and supervisory teams, and undertaking new employee inductions.

Main Tasks
  1. Ensure compliance with OHS acts, regulations, and best practice.
  2. Provide technical support to production management and supervisory teams.
  3. Undertake new employee, contractor, and visitor inductions.
  4. Respond to fire alarm activations and coordinate emergency response.
  5. Deputise for the Head of Health & Safety during leave or absence.
  6. Execute planned and breakdown maintenance on mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
  7. Manage training providers for cranes, FLTs, trailer movers, shunters, First Aid, and ensure all employees hold valid certification.
  8. Undertake one very early hours start per month to interact with the night shift.
Required Skills and Experience
  1. Prior experience in a similar role in the Heavy Engineering sector.
  2. Detailed understanding and experience of simultaneous crane operations.
  3. A member of a recognised Safety Institution, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  4. An adult teaching qualification such as PTTLLS.
  5. Experience of construction projects and managing construction contractors, implementing CDM 2015 as client and principal contractor.
  6. Excellent IT skills, including MS Office.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary between £40,000 - £45,000, contributory pension scheme, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
