We are seeking a skilled Debt and Benefits Specialist to join our team at The Royal British Legion. As a Debt and Benefits Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist debt, benefit, and money advice to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive community-based debt advice services to beneficiaries experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Advise on legal positions and suitable options available through face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions.
  • Carry out income maximization through identifying and advising on benefit entitlement and take-up of appropriate benefits.
  • Deliver specialist-level welfare benefits casework, including preparation of written submissions and representation at appeal tribunals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a high-quality and consistent service to beneficiaries.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of debt, benefits, and money advice principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
