Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Middle Office Analyst to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd.

This exciting opportunity will involve working with our client, an Energy and Commodity trading company in London, to ensure the integrity of their financial statements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and verifying daily and monthly P&L, as well as performing price verification and valuation testing of trading inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent valuation of commodity derivatives.
  • Daily & monthly P&L reporting.
  • P&L investigation, explanation, and reconciliations.
  • Portfolio and product governance.
  • Implement and monitor IPV framework and controls.
  • New product setup and testing.
  • Compute market and liquidation reserves.
  • Liaise with Finance department and trading desks in London, New York and Singapore.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Physics or Engineering.
  • Proficient in Excel; VBA/Python and Data Analytics.
  • Excellent numeracy, analytics, combined with strong communication skills.
  • Advanced aptitude for problem solving and multitasking.
  • Intellectually curious.
  • Experience with commodities products & financial instruments and the valuations and modelling.
  • Knowledge of Openlink Endur or any other similar ETRM systems.
  • Organised, attention to details and able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a global team.
