Our client, a leading Energy and Commodity trading company in London, seeks a skilled professional to join their team as a Quantitative Middle Office Analyst. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial statements. Your responsibilities will include preparing and verifying daily and monthly profit and loss statements, as well as conducting price verification and valuation testing of trading inventory. Additionally, you will be required to develop and maintain technical skills in coding languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA to support automation across the team. Your expertise will also be utilized in P&L investigation, explanation, and reconciliation, new product setup and testing, risk control assessments, and maintenance of the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA). To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Physics, or Engineering, and proficiency in Excel, VBA, and data analytics. Experience with commodities products and financial instruments, as well as their valuations and modeling, is highly advantageous.
