About Us
">At Arm, we're looking for skilled software performance analysis engineers to join our growing team in the Userspace Performance department. As a Senior Software Performance Engineer, you'll play a key role in improving the performance of software running on Arm systems used worldwide.
">About the Role
">This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of Software Engineers who share a passion for innovation and problem-solving. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and improve large codebases for different performance aspects, working closely with our tooling teams to identify root causes of performance issues. You'll also collaborate with various teams across Arm to gain insights into problems and improve workload performance.
">Key Responsibilities

- Collect data about how workloads run and analyze it to understand bottlenecks and investigate next steps.">
- Analyze and improve large codebases for different performance aspects.">
- Work with various platforms, including the latest hardware, FPGAs, and software models of upcoming hardware designs.">
- Document analysis performed, share knowledge within the team and wider, and produce write-ups and presentations to help other developers handle similar problems.">
- Contribute improvements to open-source projects or directly to partners.">
Requirements
">To succeed in this role, you'll need excellent C/C++ skills, experience in profiling and tracing large applications to find performance bottlenecks, and understanding of runtime engines for high-level languages like Java, JavaScript, and similar. Familiarity with OS concepts such as processes, threads, locks, virtual memory, and ability to reason about generated assembly code are highly desirable. You should also have established experience or a Bachelor's degree (or above) in a STEM subject and experience with open-source project development cycles and contribution processes.

">We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
