We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and manage group logistics operations, maximising efficiency and ensuring timely product delivery. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing, and distribution across all branches.

About the role:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise the product cycle from receipt to delivery.
  • Manage warehousing operations, including storage, handling, packaging, loading, and transportation.
  • Ensure warehouse layouts and processes are optimised for efficiency and safety.
  • Oversee the transportation of goods, including our own fleet and selected carriers.
  • Coordinate and optimise distribution to ensure timely delivery of products to our branches and customers.
  • Track and analyse KPIs related to logistic operations to ensure 'customer service excellence' is progressive.
  • Implement improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary adjustments in processes.
  • Lead and manage the team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to drive team engagement and productivity.
  • Implement and manage logistics software and systems to develop visibility, control, and reporting.

Accountabilities:
  • Ensure all driver activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure all staff PPPs and Appraisals are competently carried out.
  • Absence management, recruitment, induction, and employee relations.
  • Ensuring all training is up to date.
  • Adhere to all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
  • Proactively completing all relevant activities to reach set goals.

Requirements:
  • Must have proven experience in logistics management or a related area.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are imperative.
  • Must have the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of B2B sales would be advantageous, however not essential.
