We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical/Short Stay Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team at North Metro Knoxville Medical in Birmingham, AL. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse looking to move into post-operative care or for an experienced nurse looking to make a change.
The ideal candidate will evaluate assigned patients, plan, implement, and document nursing care. They will assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform various patient tests, and administer medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
This role promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
Responsibilities
We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate RN who can:
- Evaluate and prioritize patient needs, developing individualized plans of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide wound care as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- An active, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alabama.
- Associates or better in Nursing or a related field.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within emergency or high acuity care.
