Field Service Engineer (Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician) Role

Location: Preston & Blackburn Territory
Hours: 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £31,000 - £34,500 Starting Salary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks as a Field Service Engineer. You will enjoy a field-based role offering comprehensive on-the-job training, an extensive benefits package, and progression routes.

The ideal candidate will have experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment, as well as engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills. A level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown coverage on materials handling machinery.
  2. Provide reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area.
  3. Complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment.
  4. Manage spares placed in the van overnight.

Requirements:

  1. Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment; automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable.
  2. Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills.
  3. Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
